Sunday School GENERAL OFFICERS SL1 - Sunday School Director This person gives leadership to the ministering arm of the church family. Their passion is to see people involved in a small Bible Study group, known as Sunday School. This person should be supportive and embrace the complete ministry of the church and work in conjunction with the Associate Pastor of Education. SL2 - Assistant Sunday School Director This person is a vital asset to the Sunday School Director in assisting with the “Sharing Life” Ministries. This person assists the Sunday School Director and classes with their needs and encourages growth. SL3 - Department Director (all age groups) The Department Director assists the Class Shepherd and the Sunday School Director with materials and information for all the classes. This person also helps to encourage classes to be involved in TOUCH (outreach and inreach) and Shepherd’s Gathering. SL4 - Sunday School Record Secretary & Assistants The person for this area of ministry helps maintain the records for attendance of the Sunday School Small Groups offered on campus. Assistants serve in the Sunday School office each week. These people post attendance / offerings in our ACS / Excel programs for all Sunday School classes. CLASSES SL5 - Class Shepherd (all age groups) The Class Shepherd serves as teacher of his/her class. They prepare the Bible Study lesson each week, while supporting the overall ministry of the church and encouraging the class to become actively involved in the life of the church. This person is placed with the consultation of the Sunday School Director and the Associate Pastor of Education. SL6 - Class Apprentice (all age groups) Each class shepherd will mentor a person to be a future Class Shepherd. The apprentice will have opportunities to teach and lead the class several times during the year. This person will be selected with the consultation of the Sunday School Director and the Associate Pastor of Education. SL7 - Sunday School Record Secretary The Class Secretary is a source of information for the class. Their role includes sharing various announcements and reporting attendance/offering (maintaining records) to the Sunday School Director. This person serves as a vital link from the Church Body to the class. SL8 - Adult Care Group Leader The Care Group leader assists the Class Shepherd (Teacher) by staying in contact with members and opportunities for the class. They give an update to the class each week and keep the Class Shepherd informed about ministry opportunities.
Discipleship Training SL9 - Discipleship Director This person serves under the direction of the Associate Pastor of Education to provide a “deeper level” of Bible Study for all ages. The person will help enlist other specialized leaders to assist in teaching all ages. This ministry will work hand-in-hand with the other discipleship opportunities. SL10 - Discipleship Training Adults Teacher A person with the gift of teaching might feel lead to serve in this area of ministry. The teacher will lead a short-term opportunity to be involved in bringing adults to a deeper level in biblical study. SL11 - Discipleship Training Youth Teacher A person with the gift of teaching might feel lead to serve in this area of ministry. The teacher will lead a short-term opportunity to be involved in bringing youth to a deeper level in biblical study. SL12 - Discipleship Training Children Teacher A person with the gift of teaching might feel lead to serve in this area of ministry. The teacher will lead a short-term opportunity to be involved in bringing children to a deeper level in biblical study. SL 13 - Discipleship Training Preschool Teacher A person with the gift of teaching might feel lead to serve in this area of ministry. The teacher will lead an opportunity to teach preschoolers.
