Advisory Teams

SO1 - Preschool / Children Advisory Teams Ministry

The Preschool / Children’s Teams serve as advisory and planning ministry for our Preschool / Children’s  Ministries.  Working in conjunction with our Minister to Preschool & Children, the team evaluates and initiates opportunities to minister to preschoolers / children and their families.

SO1a - JourneyMEN’s Advisory Team Ministry

Through purposeful fellowship and ministry this team is leading men to Love God, Share Life, Serve Others and Show Jesus to our  world.

SO1b - Missions Advisory Council

This representative group works with the pastor to provide leadership and direction  for the total mission emphasis of the church.  Members include representatives from WINGS, WMU, GA’s, RA’s, Men’s Ministry and three at large members.

SO2 - Youth Advisory Team Ministry

The Youth Team serves as advisory and planning ministry for our Youth  Ministry.  Working in conjunction with our Minister to Youth, the team evaluates and initiates opportunities to minister to youth and their families.

SO3 - Single Advisory Team Ministry

The Singles’ Team serves as advisory and planning ministry for our Singles’ Ministry.  Working in conjunction with our Singles’  Class Shepherd, the team evaluates and initiates opportunities to minister to singles and their families.

SO4 - Young at Heart Advisory Team Ministry

The Young at Heart Team serves as advisory and planning ministry for our Young at Heart Ministry.  Working in conjunction with our Senior Adult Director, the team evaluates and initiates opportunities to minister to Senior Adults and their families.  The senior pastor helps facilitate this ministry.

SO5 - WINGS – Woman Involved “N” God’s Service

This ministry encourages women to journey together Loving God, while growing spiritually through transforming bible studies and purposeful fellowship opportunities.  As the women of the church serve together, they will effectively share Jesus with other ladies in our community and world. 

Ministry Teams

SO5 - Ministry Team:  Audit 

This team will perform annual audits of the church financial records as directed by the church, if deemed necessary. 

SO6 - Ministry Team: Baptism 

This team assists the pastor in preparing for and performing the ordinance of baptism.  Team members contact and assist candidates before and after the baptism.

SO7 - Ministry Team: Benevolence Advisory   

Assists the associate pastor of administration in accessing extended benevolence needs at his discretion.   

SO8 - Ministry Team: Bereavement

This person explores the need for meals and other assistance during a death in the church family.  They then coordinate any food services provided to church families (through their SS class) during their time of need.

SO9 - Ministry Team: Building & Property

This team gives supervision to the upkeep and maintenance of church buildings and property.  They plan and promote periodic

workdays to maintain the facilities and promote a positive first impression with our public.

SO10 - Ministry Team : Bylaws 

To insure that bylaws are current and accurate in the execution of church policy.

SO11 - Ministry Team : Cemetery

This team supervises the upkeep and use of the church cemetery.  They may also encourage donations from participating families.

SO12 - Ministry Team :  Family Life Center

This team assists in the scheduling recreational activities in the gym for all ages.  They oversee the upkeep and use of the recreational gear.

SO13 - Ministry Team :  Flower

This team oversees the provision of floral arrangements for all regular and special services in the church.  They encourage member involvement through periodic signup.  The team also coordinates seasonal decoration  of the worship center.

SO14 - Ministry Team :  Greeter  

These team members are strategically positioned around the campus to warmly greet members and quests as they share the worship bulletin for the day with them.

SO15 - Ministry Team :  Grounds  

This team oversees the upkeep of the church lawns, shrubbery and seasonal landscaping.

SO16 - Ministry Team :  Hospitality 

This team coordinates all church wide fellowships involving food services.  They also are responsible for supervising the midweek suppers.

SO17 - Ministry Team :  History

This team shall be responsible for recording significant church events through pictures or video.  They shall assemble an Annual Year Book each year that chronicles those events to be placed in the library.  The team will also collect and preserve artifacts concerning church history.

SO18 - Ministry Team :  Library

This team will lead the church in building and maintaining a current Christian library to spiritually enrich the lives of members of every age.

SO19 - Ministry Team :  Lord’s Supper

This team assists the pastor and deacons in the upkeep of communion supplies and service.  They also prepare the table for the celebration of the Lord’s Supper.

SO20 - Ministry Team :  Nominating

This team appointed by the deacon body prayerfully selects members to serve according to their giftedness on ministry teams in the Body.  While the bulk of their work occurs annually, they will also fill vacancies that occur during the year.

SO21 - Ministry Team :  Personnel

This team serves to insure that the needs of the church staff are met.  They also serve as a confidential liaison between members and the staff when there are grievances.  They help to develop church policies concerning staff.

SO22 - Ministry Team: Stewardship 

This team assists the pastor in promoting stewardship among the members of the church.  They also seek input from the pastor,  staff and ministry leaders in developing an annual budget.

SO23 - Ministry Team : The Interior Decoration

This team works with appropriate committees in assuring that our

buildings have the appropriate furnishings and decorations.  They serve as a resource for color schemes such as walls and carpets.

SO24 - Ministry Team :  Transportation

This team supervises the scheduling and maintenance of church vans.  They also develop policies for van usage.  They serve to assist ministries in securing other transportation, when necessary. 

SO24a - Ministry Team :  Worship Tech Team

Handles sound and Power Point Announcements.  Creates and presents video presentations in support of the worship services using Easy Worship Presentation software.  This team receives its input from the Associate Minister of Worship and Senior Pastor.   Future opportunities will include video capturing, editing and distribution of worship services on various types of media (DVD, CD, Web).

SO25 - Ministry Team :  Worship Ushers

This team greets and seats members and quests in the worship center.  They also secure extra seating for special occasions.
